This group was started by a generous benefactor who provided the funds to get the organization set up as a charitable organization and hire some administrative staff. The concept is to provide immediate help, education, and emotional support when people encounter conflicts between their jobs and their lives. Our volunteers have all experienced the same types of problems and we know what you're going through. We have established relationships and contacts that we can use to help you.
Some examples of these conflicts are:
You need to take a family member to a doctor's appointment and the company won't give you the time off.
We can possibly take the family member for you, help you reschedule the appointment, or intervene on your behalf with your employer.
Your daycare just called and they are closing. You have to report to work in an hour and cannot be late or you will be fired. We can arrange emergency daycare for you and help you find another daycare provider for your three children.
We like to meet with employers and explain what we do. Most employers are receptive to the suggestions we make after we explain the benefits. Talk to your managers...tell them about us...they need to know.
